Say NO to California-Style Elections

Proposition 140 is a sprawling measure that would enact a California-style election scheme in Arizona. It includes 15 NEW amendments to our state constitution that would import confusing new voting systems known as ranked choice voting and jungle primaries, gives one partisan politician the power to decide which candidates appear on the general election ballot, eliminates choices for voters and will delay election results for months.
Gives All Power to One Partisan Politician
This poorly drafted measure gives all power to one partisan politician, the Secretary of State, to decide how many candidates appear on the general election ballot for every single election, including his own.
Eliminates Choices for Voters
Results in only one party being represented in the General Election, reducing choices for voters.
Creates Confusing Ballots
Creates long and confusing ballots with mixed voting schemes.
Increases Voter Errors
Will cause more errors, resulting in ballots not being counted.
Proposition 140 is opposed by individuals and groups across the political spectrum. Republicans, Democrats and third parties recognize Prop 140 is deeply flawed and will not improve electoral outcomes or the voting experience in Arizona.
